After offering over $220 to punch somebody in the face there were NO takers. Ben was completely wasted and I didn't help matters with my antics. 2 touring bands and 2 people paid. Out of control.

At my favorite spot in Conway

Los Tres Potrillos aka 3 ponies in my crew is Mason Stills go to spot for chillin. One of my favorite busk nights ever took place here a few months ago. We were playing outside and were invited in to play Wagon Wheel for 40-50 people. It erupted into a full throwdown party set where we just danced around singing and playing. Ended up playing 2 hours after they closed for the employees. Not playing here today but a good memory to reflect on.

Day off for Mason Stills

Taking the day off from busking today, tomorrow, and Christmas. Usually these dates are the best money making days for the entire year but it's pity money. People generally get the wrong idea about busking during Christmas because they feel sorry for you. That's why we aren't playing. Back in black Wednesday in downtown Conway

Partners never felt so fine

Brought in a partner on the soundstage. Too much touring in the future and Las Vegas led me to this being the best decision for the business. Show tonight was packed. 8 bands and The energy was definitely there. Business meeting Monday. Get stoked

Well not really but definitely for the night. 32 degrees leaves me with no no un un homie. A rather eventful day to say the least. My venue the sound stages roof was heavily damaged during the wind storm. Estimates coming. Too cold to busk. Calling it quits for the night.

Stuck in colder weather

Soundstage show tonight had 4 bands and 16 people paid. Nice guys in the bands tonight but no promotion except for Facebook is self suicide for bands nowadays. The cold is cutting my smoking habit in half. It's brutal. Time to go back to the west coast for a while. Vegas soon. Yes indeed. Back to the busk at dusk tomorrow.

Winds of change...............

Wind in Arkansas today was up to 50mph all day so busking was out of the question. A show is going on at my venue right now. Let's see how it turns out. Back to busking in the morning

Arkansas finally talked shit

After busking from NYC to Chicago to DC to Las Vegas, every state in between and now in Arkansas. It Honestly took a while to have a drunken patron talk noise in the state of Arkansas while busking. On the west coast while playing Hollywood,Ventura,Santa Monica pier and Las Vegas. You definitely become very accustomed to people down talking your music. I am always my worst critic. I had a guy tonight after hearing suspicious minds tell me I screwed up and should have played a song earlier in his career that he actually wrote. I was dumbfounded by his ignorant statement. Research it and find out for yourself how stupid his statement was. $5 tip. LOL

Just woke up. Had a decent night in downtown Conway busking. Maybe had a little too much sauce is how the money reflects. But thank you drew for helping make that happen. Morning ritual activate Busk begins, day 2 of the week.

Just finished the 1st lunch busk of the week at Mikes Place. On break now until 6:30. Then once again it's on! Night night time :)

Good morning from me to you

Awoke today, bounced to the store. Pregaming now until my first busk set at mikes place in downtown Conway today. Finished up all the guitars on the new album yesterday. And I hear the train a comin................. Will be back in Las Vegas playing in 2 weeks.

Rather uneventful day smoking drinking the new album away

Just laid around drinking and smoking today. All guitars are finished for the new Mason Stills album. That was a success but vocals are not meant for the staggers. Also known as wasted. It's glory. Now I drink the night away with a frozen Tony's pizza to settle the day. Wake up at 9 and will be at the spot MIKEs Place by 11:00am to start the busk week. Tuesday through Saturday is my jam. , Back to Vegas in 2 weeks.

Slacking,drinking,partying and sleeping on blog updates

Since my last update I played at the Oak Street Bistro again and many busk at Mikes Place in Conway Arkansas. 3 shows have went down at the Soundstage since Dec 5. Been working hard on Mason Stills new album for the release Jan 1st. I am taking off today and tomorrow. Back in busking action Tuesday in downtown Conway

Another day in the life

Continued Recording material today for Mason Stills new album coming out January 1st. Spent 26 hours in the studio the past 2 days. Now it's drinky time!

Rainy Day in Conway,Arkansas

Still in recovery mode from the Mason Stills show we played Saturday night at Kings Of Conway Dueling Piano Bar in Conway, Arkansas and Nashville,Tennessee the night before.

The infamous night consist of us killing the rest of a half gallon of McCormicks vodka, many many beers, and a feedback driven set with NO sound man. Overall it was a definitive drunken debauchery.

Back to TODAY! Sometimes the weather is for busking and then there are days like today = Not so much. Still going to play. It's going to be a tuffy. Cheers.

My name/alter ego is Mason Stills

 

This is the journal of my life touring,traveling,busking and breaking down. The good the bad and the ugly truth story told of a full time musicians life and struggle. A little background on myself to character build so to speak. I am a 34 year male and opened SOUND STAGE (the longest running all ages venue in the United States) at 21 years of age. Recently we celebrated our 13 year anniversary. I also am the lead singer for the National touring act FIRE TO REASON touring 48 states 37 times travelling 154,000 miles to date. I also recently started a acoustic project appropriately named MASON STILLS.

Today at 11:00am-2:00am, I will be busking(street performing)in front of MIKES PLACE in Conway, Arkansas. A very upscale restaurant for the rich and tame Clientele consists of older wealthy people and seemingly spoiled house wives. I played the same time and place yesterday earning $10 for my passionate art form. No sleep and burnt out. My day begins now.
